Welcome to Holy Family Online
Holy
Family Parish is a part of the Roman Catholic
Diocese of Salford.
Founded in 1954, with Mass celebrated initially in Balderstone Hall, the
church was completed in 1955 to accommodate approximately 450
worshippers.

In 2006 the Church saw further building works
undertaken, in order to reflect more appropriately the needs of the
future and to provide better accessibility and facilities. The worship
space is now smaller, with seating for about 250, and a new "Family
Room" in the back has enabled us to develop more strongly a sense of
community which is, we believe, one of our greatest strengths. Since
this building work was completed, we have been able to extend a warm
welcome to people with disabilities, and we hope that they, too, can
feel a real sense of belonging to the Family of God gathered here.
The
parish serves the areas around Kirkholt and Turf Hill, and runs
south as far as the Oldham boundary. There is car parking within the
grounds, and the large garden includes a Grotto in honour of Our Lady,
based upon the shrine at
Lourdes.
