Liturgical Ministries in the Church

There are many ways in which we encourage our parishioners to become actively involved in the liturgical life of the parish. Please speak to Fr Gaspar or Denise if you would like to volunteer for any of these roles. Over time, it is hoped to make available various downloadable resources to assist in preparation for any of these tasks. (See under "Resources" below).

Readers
We invite adults or children to serve, on a rota basis, stepping forward to proclaim God's Word to the assembly.

Eucharistic Ministers
We seek adult volunteers to help distribute the sacred Body and Blood of Our Lord at Mass, and also to assist in taking Holy Communion to the sick and housebound of our community on a rota basis after Sunday Mass.

Musicians
We invite both singers and instrumentalists who are willing to contribute their skills to enhance our worship. All ages are welcome.

Altar Servers
These are school age children (boys and girls) who have completed the Sacramental Programme and now assist in many ways at Mass.

Procession of Gifts
Families or individuals are invited to carry forward the bread and wine at the beginning of the Eucharistic Prayer.

You will appreciate that all adult volunteers are required to undertake a DBS check. Our Safeguarding Representative will speak to you about this, and the process is funded by the Diocese.
